REMOTOX® is a Calcium Polysulfide Solution formed through the reaction of calcium hydroxide, elemental sulfur and water.
Equipment
Materials of construction suitable for storing REMOTOX® include stainless steel, fiberglass, high density polyethylene and polypropylene, ABS, PVC, and Teflon. Suitable elastomers and linings for REMOTOX service include EPDM, Chemraz, Viton, Neoprene and silicon rubbers. For additional information, please request our product compatibility chart.
Logistics
REMOTOX® is readily available for shipment in drums, IBC totes and in bulk tank trucks. This product is not DOT regulated. Solutions of REMOTOX are considered stable in transportation. When containers are tightly sealed and stored at moderate temperature, REMOTOX has been tested to maintain its effectiveness for a minimum of one year.
Safety
REMOTOX® is corrosive due to its caustic nature. Workers are advised to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to avoid exposure to the skin and eyes. Wash thoroughly after handling. Use product outdoors or in well ventilated area. Take any precaution to avoid mixing with acids, combustibles, oxidizers. For further information, please refer to our Safety Data Sheet.
This aqueous calcium polysulfide solution consists of multiple sulfur anions that strongly bond to heavy metals in water and soil. The metal sulfides formed have an extremely low solubility and persist as stable solids.
Product Properties
REMOTOX® is a calcium polysulfide liquid solution with a typical pH of 11.5. The solution is deep red in color and may have a slight rotten egg odor. Typical weight of the solution is 10.6 pounds per U.S. gallon (1.27 gm/cc). The concentration (active ingredient) of the solution is 29% by weight.
